Thank you for your trust

Thank you for the opportunity to meet your fur children and create your work of art. I love having a personalized process for meeting clients and creating their inspiring pieces. Commissioning a piece of art is so fun, but it can also be confusing as every artist has their process. I love making the journey as enjoyable as possible.

Here are A few tips to create a beautiful

experience in this process

  • Ride the wave of the creative process with the artist: While you have a vision of what the painting will feel and look like, it’s best to explore my portfolio and be sure that my style is what you are looking for in your portrait. A commissioned painting feels similar to having a web designer or photographer execute a vision for you, as they are the experts at the wheel in the process. It’s best to sit back and enjoy the view as the client. If you’re nervous about liking the project, schedule a meeting anyway! I’d love to talk with you.

  • Share what you enjoy and see about my other paintings and drawings so I can be sure to add some aspects to your piece!

  • Express any colors and pigments you hope to avoid experiencing in your painting. This could be colors that clash with your desired place to hang the piece or colors you just don’t enjoy.

  • At the end of the day, the outcome is not entirely knowable … the inherent adventure, mystery, and a bit of risk are part of what makes commissioning art so fun! Trust the journey.

  • Lastly, if you prefer polished, photo-like paintings, I’m not your artistic style. But I’m always happy to recommend artist friends that might fit your taste. For ideas on my art aesthetic, you can reference historical artists such as Frank Duveneck, Cecilia Beaux, and Anna Bilinska or present-day painters such as Stephen Bauman, Felicia Forte, Peter Van Dyck, and Tom Root. You can also find me on Pinterest.

  • I would love to be the artist for your Pet Portraits. Review the paintings and drawings to confirm I’m your gal.

I can’t wait to hear from you.
